Hello, I'm Mary Lou Johnson,    

a maker of hand lettered art, cards, wedding invites, social stationery, custom illustrations and hand made books.

Joined the LA Society for Calligraphy in the 90's and never looked back. Lost count of conferences, retreats and classes for calligraphers attended. I also like to make connections in my home town, known as SLO Town or San Luis Obispo, having designed the Famers' Market Logo, Morro Bay Harvest Festival Poster and several La Fiesta Logos.

My art and calligraphy have garnered two winning entries recently in the Washington Calligrapher's Guild annual Graceful Envelope Contest.

Teaching lettering arts through a local art store, Art Central,

and SLOLife Studio & Mercantile allows me to continue sharing what I know about hand lettering. One on one tutoring sessions is another way to share tips and tricks for calligraphy whether it is Copperplate Script, Italic or Uncial.
